To be a good fit for the Senior Human Resources Representative opportunity, you will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or additional relevant work experience is required. 
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and recruiting, and experience working with frontline employees.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution center environment is strongly preferred; food and beverage industry experience is ideal.
  • Knowledge of legal compliance requirements.
  • Expert knowledge of HR policies and procedures, such as leaves of absence, with the ability to ensure other HR Representatives are aligned.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems, preferably UltiPro.
  • Excellent computer skills including Google Suite and MS Office Suite.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish speakers preferred. Over 30 languages are spoken in the plant so any 2nd language is a plus.
In addition, you will need the following abilities and characteristics:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to establish credibility as a trusted advisor.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and competing demands.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate up and down the organization.
  • Self-driven and motivated.
You will work the day shift, but will need the flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet the demands of your role and interact with the second shift. 

Important note: You will work on site in Irwindale Monday through Friday, even during the Covid crisis, but we are working hard to ensure our employees remain safe and healthy. Temperatures are taken before any employee enters the building, face masks and shields are provided, depending on which is appropriate for the position, and precautions are taken throughout the plant and offices. In HR, there is a closed office with window access when it necessary to speak with someone directly. No employees will be coming in and out of the HR office and much of your interaction will be via phone and video chat.

You will join the Irwindale onsite Human Resources team and work closely with the HRBP, HR manager and two HR representatives, together supporting a total client group of 850 employees covering three shifts.
 
As our Senior Human Resources Representative you will provide operational and administrative support to the Human Resources team, Operations team and hourly employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will manage a plethora of responsibilities from engagement to recruiting (working closely with an outside recruiting partner) to benefits support, special projects and more. Specifically, you will: 
  • Lead on national projects and ensure proper execution of projects across the plant.
  • Manage mid-level employee relations investigations and partner with the HRBP and/or HR Manager to determine corrective disciplinary actions.
  • Lead frontline recruiting efforts, including external hiring, temp conversion, onboarding and orientation.
  • Coach, train and mentor new hire HR Representatives with skills and developmental needs, and provide feedback.
  • Evaluate and lead/implement changes within policies, procedures and programs
    Partners with Team Leads on investigations and provides recommendation to HR Manager for corrective action.
  • Oversees and takes action items from round table meetings.
  • Leads and conducts monthly HR Representative meetings across all plants.
  • Take the lead of Counseling associates concerning work-related problems and/or concerns
  • Lead special projects working closely with HRBP and acts as Lead Partner to HRBP
  • Lead I-9 and attendance program audits on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other Sr. HR Reps in other plants and lead HR projects
  • Lead and drive all KPI/Reports on a weekly. monthly basis including Headcount, Turnover, Demographics and any other critical HR data.
  • Key Lead for External Audit Document Control and help lead 3rd party audits on a needed basis
  • Attend webinars, seminars and other training to stay up to date on laws and best practices and share knowledge with fellow HR Representatives on a quarterly basis.
  • Provide support and guidance to HR Representatives, Supervisors and Managers
  • Provide back-up coverage for HRBP position
  • Identify and recommend appropriate interventions, performance management/discipline and/or other corrective actions needed
Physical work environment: you will mainly work in an office environment but will also occasionally work in a manufacturing environment (plant) where you'll be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.

This is a demanding role, made even more so in the challenging environment caused by COVID-19. We'll look for you to hit the ground running as you join us to help manage the day-to-day demands as well as ongoing projects. You'll have the advantage of being in a plant with a strong and stable management team and low turn over, along with the challenges of some employees out on leave, others nervous to work, and higher instances of calling in sick.
