Day in the Life
The Associate Marketing Manager is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of short and long-term brand strategy and marketing plans. The Associate Marketing Manager will focus on meeting business/financial requirements, and leading cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of profitable new products which meet consumer and customer needs.
This position will enable you to:
- Make an impact by digging into data and providing analytical insights
- Support fresh, healthy and convenient consumer products during a time of high growth
- Contribute to ongoing innovation by finding ways to drive growth and measure performance
- Join the market share leader in ready-to-eat bowls -- you will support our Bistro® Bowl product line
Responsibilities:
Base Brand/Portfolio Management
- Supports the development and execution of brand strategy and marketing plans for our Complete Meals/Salad Bowl business.
- Provides weekly analysis of internal data, and monthly assessment of performance, competitors, and category dynamics – generates a monthly scorecard.
- Works collaboratively across the company with cross-functional partners, leveraging the knowledge and expertise of others to meet brand objectives.
- Coordinate account-level marketing activation with Brand Communications and Sales leaders.
- Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
Consumer Insights and Business Acumen
- Assists in analyzing retail, category, brand, consumer, and competitive trends to understand key business drivers and make thoughtful recommendations to grow the business via portfolio optimization, innovation/renovation, distribution, communications, pricing, and promotions.
- Collaborates with the Marketing team and Consumer Insights team to participate and understand research studies with the objective of assessing the needs and wants of our consumers to deliver innovative new product ideas.
Innovation & Renovation
- Works with PM as a Marketing Lead on innovation projects through the Product Development Process (PDP) by identifying new opportunities, building a case for launch based on consumer need, and ability to enhance our brand portfolio while working with cross-functional partners successfully ushering new products from ideation to launch.
- Reviews and/or authors new product concepts and initiates the PDP process. Develop and submit R&D + Creative brief.
- Initiates idea screeners and packaging studies (as needed).
- Coordinates with Finance and Sales to determine optimal price structure.
- Leads the development of packaging (graphics) across the entire complete meals category.

Desired qualifications:
- Passionate about fresh foods
- Bachelor’s degree, MBA strongly preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years of brand management experience within the CPG industry (food strongly preferred)
- Strong analytic capability and attention to detail a must (Nielsen and IRI proficient) -- able not only to pull data but also to draw action-oriented insights and recommendations
- Financial acumen and P&L understanding
- Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent written and oral communication + presentation skills
- Self-starter and independent
- Experience in corporate and entrepreneurial environments is a plus
- Positive attitude!
You will have the option to work from home eight days a month, averaging about three days a week in the office.
