Job responsibilities
As Agriculture Field Technician, you'll have the opportunity to work in all aspects of the Agriculture Operations department and specialize in at least two key Ag Development segments including:
- Ag innovation and technology
- Seed varieties
- Product innovation
- Corporate social responsibility and sustainability
- Ag research projects
This position will primarily be responsible for supporting Agriculture Development from seed to harvest and will work directly at the field level. Effective communication skills will be needed to work with growers, seed suppliers, and technology partners, as well as with cross-functional contacts.
This role will report to the Senior Agricultural Development Manager and be based in Salinas, CA eight months of the year. The Agriculture Field Technician will relocate to Yuma, AZ during the colder months (November through February).
Primary duties
- Coordinate crop varieties with seed companies and growers to ensure execution on variety planning
- Effectively communicate planting and zoning locations at early crop stages
- Collect, consolidate, and report data on a variety of trials and R&D projects
- Support global initiatives such as our Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability goals
What will you do:
- Support Ag operations supply program
- Build collaborative relationships with seed and technology business partners
- Provide boots-on-the-ground evaluations by traveling to field locations
- Document seed variety trials along with research and development projects
- Work closely with growers in alignment with global strategies
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure program effectiveness across the company
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned

- 2-4 years of experience in the agriculture industry required (professional and internship experience considered) Quick question for you - click here
- Field experience and/or baseline knowledge of the produce industry preferred
- Solid computer skills including proficiency in Google Suite (preferred), MS Office or similar
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate up and down the organization
- Proactive and self-motivated with a proven track record of results and a bias for action
- A passion for learning and a craving to work in a fun culture
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
