Frontline Trainer - 1st Shift

Job responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with and maintain all GMP/PPE/safety, SQF, HACCP, sanitation guidelines and processes.
- Partner and communicate with the temporary agencies to meet new associates and coordinate training/onboarding.
- Conduct a short onboarding session using a PowerPoint presentation on their 1st day including GMPs, safety, and the environment. Group should include no more than 10 new associates.
- Training is conducted prior to the associate going to the production line in a classroom setting and demonstrate tasks. Take the new associate on a short tour of the facility including rest rooms, cafeteria, and locker room.
- Train assigned associates while utilizing effective training techniques, such as new associates' orientation, on-the-job training, health and safety practices, etc.
- Review their job description with the new associate. Train new associates against established one-point lessons (OPLs).
- Assign them to a line/area and mirror the new associate. Ensure they are assigned to the same line on day #2.
- Perform assessment of all new temps and associates. Oversee the new associate performance for at least 1 week; longer if needed. Provide constant coaching and feedback to the associate. Communicate new associate progress to the supervisor daily.
- Perform/assist with annual training needs, making recommendations based on opportunities, ensuring that adequate lesson plans/materials are available and performing appropriate instructional procedures or methods.
- Ensure new, transferred/returning associates receive appropriate department- or equipment-specific training and maintain and track records (training sign in sheets and development status of trainees).
- Assist with improvement of the facility's general orientation/induction program.
- Assist with the facilitation of Alchemy training topics.
- Handle special projects as assigned such as writing or confirming one-point lessons (OPLs).
- Maintain and leverage your knowledge and understanding of how to maintain a safe work environment and ensure new associates are wearing/using PPE correctly, maintaining clean work areas, working safely around moving equipment and conveyors in a wet environment and reporting all accidents and safety concerns to department leadership immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent; some college or an associate's degree is preferred.
- 1+ years of direct training experience, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment and ideally with fresh produce.
- Solid training and presentation skills and comfort leading and guiding others in a diverse, multi-cultural production environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills in English.
- The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Computer proficiency.
- The ability to coach and mentor others.
- Willingness to work in a refrigerated (34°F) and wet environment.
