Job responsibilities
The Manufacturing Excellence Manager partners with the Plant Director and is part of the Irwindale site leadership team. She/he drives and coordinates the Manufacturing Excellence program implementation, and identifies, analyzes, proposes, and implements continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence initiatives to optimize resource utilization such as materials, people, utilities, and equipment. The Manufacturing Excellence Manager works with other sites/ functional areas to drive change across Bonduelle's plants to deliver cost savings targets within the plant operating activities. She/he acts as a coach and mentor to managers, supervisors, and others to establish a zero-loss manufacturing culture and build Lean Sigma skills and capabilities so that everyone can identify and eliminate losses every hour, every shift, and every day. This position reports to the Senior Director of Manufacturing Excellence for North America.

This position will enable you to:
- Serve as a TPM leader, own at least two Pillars of Activity and provide subject-matter-expertise to influence outcomes
- Make a ground-floor impact as we roll out the pillars. You'll work on the master plan and gain alignment with the business

- Own the development, implementation, and execution of the plant's Manufacturing Excellence Program and the Continuous Improvement Playbook Quick question for you - click here

- Use Six Sigma and Lean disciplines to drive continuous improvement projects, lead teams, coach, and mentor plant personnel
- Partner with the entire plant team to identify and prioritize losses
- Provide technical expertise and input in resolving bottlenecks to throughput; determine efficient methods for worker and equipment utilization
- Lead critical cost savings projects using project management tools
- Manage development and execution of the plant Productivity Deck (list of CI projects for the year)
- Report status and results of projects to stakeholders
- Develop management systems, establish work measurement programs and perform line workload observations to develop standards for labor and materials utilization
- Work hand-in-hand with functional department representatives to create task teams and lead brainstorming to identify areas of improvement; propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide analysis, input, and support for the budget process
- Prepare and give formal presentations to management about projects' progress and direction
- Prepare cost/benefit analyses and present recommendations to management
- Ensure the benefits generated by the projects are properly measured and that the impact on total costs are validated by Finance
- Train and coach the plant leaders, project leaders, and others as needed on the Focused Improvement methodologies
- Build skills and capabilities on continuous improvement tools such as Zero Base Analysis, Process Mapping, 5-Why Analysis, Rapid Changeover, Line Balancing, Waste Walk, Kaizen, DMAIC, etc. across all functions of the plant
- Ensure standardization of CI methods across the plant
- Track and ensure the sustainability of improvements
- Report out the progress of cost savings execution
- Share best practices and adopts best practices from other plants
- Build collaborative relationships with business partners.
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Desired qualifications:
What you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 2 to 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in the Food and Beverage industry highly preferred
- TPM background and experience, including knowledge of at least two pillars; subject-matter expertise in at least one pillar highly preferred
- Change enabler
- Application of Continuous Improvement Tools (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM); Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification preferred Quick question for you - click here

- Cost accounting experience or financial acumen is a plus
- Must have very strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities
- Highly self-motivated; able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong PC skills, including the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Suite, and Minitab
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience leading teams and facilitating meetings
- Strong project management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate up and down the organization
- A proven track record of results with a bias for action
- A passion for learning and a craving to work in a fun culture
- Ability to travel up to 10%
